Rocks. Toadstool Geologic Park is full of rocks. Weathered sandstone. Hoodoos. These are some of the smaller hoodoos that have been revealed as wind and occasional rain and snow eat through the softer rock. I don't get out here as often as I'd like, but I usually come back with at least photo that I like. This is a straightforward composition showing the striated sandstone and cracked bases, plus a happy sky. It's fun to explore the detail within the rock textures. I also like the lighter piece at the bottom, which is my punctuation for the scene.
